The Guyana Squash Association (GSA) will celebrate its 60th anniversary this September with a weekend of special events, headlined by the induction of its first-ever Hall of Fame class.
Taking place from September 26 – 28, the milestone celebration is expected to attract strong support from the Guyanese diaspora, with a series of activities planned to honour the sportâs history and chart its future.
Former world number 19 Nicolette Fernandes, a gold medallist at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, is widely anticipated to be among the first inductees into the newly established Guyana Squash Hall of Fame.

Fernandes has long been a standard-bearer for Guyanese squash on the international stage.
Over the three-day period, the GSA will host a presentation on the development of squash in Guyana since 1965, unveil a roll of national champions from 1971 to the present, and share its strategic vision for the sportâs continued growth.
Described by the GSA as a landmark occasion in the nationâs squash history, the celebration will not only pay tribute to past achievements but also lay the groundwork for the next generation of players.
