Butcher Big Boyz are 8-ball champions

Butcher Big Boyz defeated Suicide Squad to claim the El Dorado Rum National 8-Ball Team Championship title. The Georgetown-based team secured $700,000 in prize money, the championship trophy, and national bragging rights.

The tournament, which began on June 8 and concluded on July 7, featured 168 players across 24 teams from Bartica, Linden, Berbice, and Georgetown. Matches were played at six venues across the capital and coastal communities where pool enjoys a strong following. It is one of the flagship events of the year for the Guyana Cue Sports Association.

In the final, both teams demonstrated exceptional skill and composure, but Butcher Big Boyz proved the stronger side with disciplined teamwork and clinical play, reaffirming their status as one of the top cue sports teams in the country.

The semi-finals also brought high drama, with Team Predators and Chief Pool Club battling for third place, both earning plaudits for their resilience and quality.
