Guyana’s top darts player, Sudesh Fitzgerald, enters the third and fourth events of the Championship Darts Latin America and Caribbean (CDLC) this weekend ranked third overall, following an impressive start to the 2025 season.
After Panama hosted the opening two events in April, the tour now moves to Grand Bahama, with action set for July 26 and 27. The stakes are high as players aim to take a step closer to qualifying for the prestigious Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Darts Championship.

Fitzgerald currently sits on 20 points, with 61 wins and 27 losses, giving him a strong +34 differential. His early consistency has kept him firmly in the title hunt, trailing only tour leaders Rashad Sweeting and Jesus Salate.
With momentum on his side, the experienced Guyanese thrower will be looking to capitalise in The Bahamas and narrow the gap at the top of the table.
Fitzgerald’s resurgence on the oche has been driven by a string of high-calibre performances across the Caribbean and Latin American circuit. He is known for his sharp scoring and steady nerve, posting a 60% checkout rate during the 2023 Caribbean Darts Classic and averaged over 85 per visit in regional qualifiers.
His form saw him win the Brazilian leg of the CDLC Tour, putting him firmly on course for a return to the PDC World Darts Championship — a stage he graced back in 2009.
Despite narrowly missing out on qualification in 2024, after falling in the final playoff to Diogo Portela, Fitzgerald’s consistency throughout the tour highlighted his credentials as one of the top players in the region, and a strong contender for future world-stage appearances.
The Grand Bahama events promise fierce competition, as the region’s best dart players continue their quest for ranking points and a shot at global glory.
