Another successful year of talent identification marked the Guyana Tennis Association’s summer calendar, as over 100 young athletes took part in the 2025 edition of the “Inspiring Growth” Summer Camp from July 21 – 25.
Held at the National Racquet Centre in Georgetown, the camp culminated with a tournament, showcasing developing skills across red, orange, and green ball levels. A total of 117 participants, aged 6 to 18, took part, with 146 matches and 54 skill-based events completed on the final day.
The camp, fully funded by the GTA, aimed to introduce and nurture tennis fundamentals while building teamwork, physical literacy and competitive confidence.
In the Red Ball Beginners category, Avyan Etwaroo claimed the top spot, followed by Esther Luther in second and Allegra Kansinally in third.

Altiza Kendall emerged victorious in the Red Ball Mini division, with Onicia Thomas finishing runner-up and Sandish Dayalall securing third place. The Red Ball Regular which featured players ages 6–12 was won by Jayna Thomas, with Liza Singh placing second.
In the Red Ball Teenagers category, Jazel Osbourne took home the winner’s medal, with Virat Peters finishing as runner-up. Meanwhile, the Orange Ball final saw Cai Luther emerge as champion, ahead of Diamond Graham in second place.
Finally, Zion Hickerson topped the Green Ball category, with Isabella Grannum finishing just behind in second.
Led by Coaches Kalyca Fraser and Leyland Leacock, the camp was made possible by the support of local coaches, volunteers, and committed parents. The next training session is set for July 28 to August 1.
