Guyana head into the final day of the 2025 Rising Stars Under-15 Championship with three wins from four matches, as they prepare to face unbeaten defending champions Barbados in their final fixture at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua.
The 50-over youth tournament, which began on April 15, has featured some standout performances from Guyana’s young cricketers. In their opening encounter, Guyana comfortably chased down Trinidad and Tobago’s total of 168 all out (48.4 overs), reaching 171 for 4 in 41.5 overs. Skipper Richard Ramdeholl led the charge with a composed 64.

However, they stumbled in their second match on April 17, falling to Jamaica. Bowled out for just 104 in 28.1 overs—Arif Bacchus top-scoring with 22—Guyana could only watch as Jamaica eased to 106 for 3 in 29 overs, with Jayden Shaw contributing a measured 38.
Guyana quickly bounced back on April 19 with a commanding victory over the Windward Islands. Batting first, they posted an imposing 288 for 7 in their 50 overs, thanks largely to Lomar Seecharran’s 93. The Windwards were then dismissed for 155 in 39.4 overs, Jorden Charles making 39 in a losing effort.
Their third win came on April 21 in a low-scoring contest, where Guyana chased down 78 runs with ease. Arif Bacchus anchored the innings with a patient 23 from 67 balls, while Justin Dowlin added 21 off 45 deliveries to see their side home in 25 overs.
That string of victories sees Guyana sitting second on the table behind Barbados, who remain unbeaten. The final day fixture will likely decide the fate of the championship, with both sides eyeing top honours.
“This premier youth tournament is a crucial stepping stone for the next generation of West Indies cricket stars. Keep an eye on Barbados, who return to defend their title and aim to hold onto the crown,” West Indies Cricket said.
All matches have been played across four venues in Antigua: the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua Recreation Ground, and the Liberta Sports Ground.
