The boys are in training. Young talents from the Guyana national team programme are hard at work, aiming to earn their place in the squad for the upcoming Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship this August.
The tournament, set to run from August 2–10, will feature a group stage followed by a straight knockout round across three competitive Leagues.
The aspiring footballers are products of the Guyana Football Federation’s academy system and grassroots programmes spread across the country. Their goal: to represent their nation with pride on the regional stage, as they prepare to face top-tier youth sides from across the Concacaf region.
In the last edition in 2023, Guyana competed in League B, Group F, alongside Guadeloupe, Barbados, and Saint Lucia.

This year’s competition will be staged across three host nations—Costa Rica (League A), Aruba (League B), and Curaçao (League C). Each league will crown a champion following group stage matches and a single-elimination knockout phase. Team placement is determined by the Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Rankings and final participation numbers.
To date, 39 Concacaf Member Associations have signalled their intention to compete, including powerhouses such as Mexico, the United States—who are the reigning champions—and Honduras. The tournament is held biennially and has become a key developmental milestone for many rising stars in the region.
In a further boost to this year’s competition, the Saudi Arabian Football Association’s Under-15 national team will take part, thanks to a collaborative agreement between Concacaf, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the SAFF.
With preparations underway, the focus now shifts to performance and selection, as Guyana’s next generation of footballers look to make their mark on the regional stage.
