Guyana U17 goalkeeper Nyall Kendall joins Charlton Athletic Academy

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has congratulated under-17 goalkeeper Nyall Kendall on signing with Charlton Athletic’s youth academy in the English Football League.

Kendall caught the eye earlier this year with a string of strong performances at the Concacaf U17 Qualifiers, where he represented Guyana with distinction. Interest from several clubs followed, and a successful trial led to his signing with Charlton’s Category 2 academy, which is recognised for its high-quality facilities and player development.

The 15-year-old has agreed to a one-year contract, with the potential for an extension should he earn a scholarship.

Kendall will soon return to national duty as Guyana prepare for the upcoming Concacaf Boys’ U-15 Championship, taking place from August 2 – 10. The tournament, hosted across Aruba, Costa Rica, and Curaçao, will feature teams from 39 Member Associations competing in three leagues based on the U-17 rankings. Guyana will participate in League B matches in Aruba.

The competition will consist of a group stage followed by a knockout round, providing young players with vital international experience as part of their development on and off the pitch.
