Guyana’s Under-20 Women’s National Team will face hosts Costa Rica in their second match of the CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship, looking to recover from a heavy 8-0 defeat against six-time champions the United States.
The Junior Lady Jaguars are competing in Group A, alongside Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and the USA. They were comprehensively outplayed in their opening fixture on Friday, leaving them bottom of the group. Costa Rica sit second after a 0-0 draw with Puerto Rico in their opener.

This year marks the first time Costa Rica has hosted the tournament, which kicked off on May 27. Group B features defending champions Mexico, two-time winners Canada, Panama, and Nicaragua.
Guyana earned their spot in the final eight with a strong showing in the qualifying round, finishing top of their group.
The Championship not only determines the regional title but also acts as the final qualifying stage for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland in 2026. The top four teams will book their place at the global tournament.
