Guyana will be represented in archery for the first time at the Junior Pan American Games this August, with Lucas Chung making a historic debut for the country. He will participate in a prestigious High-Performance Training Camp in Asunción, Paraguay, from August 2–6, before competing at the regional Games in August.

Another young athlete, Karin Toppin, together with Coach Jeewanram Persaud, will also attend the training session; however, Toppin will return to Guyana before the start of the Games.
In a statement, Archery Guyana explained that the “selection was based on the winners and rankings from the 2024 Recurve Category competitions, ensuring that athletes were chosen on merit and recent performance.”
The second edition of the Junior Pan American Games will feature 4,206 athletes from 41 countries, competing across 28 sports: Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Canoe/Kayak, Cycling, Fencing, Gymnastics, Golf, Judo, Karate, Rowing, Sailing, Sport Shooting, Skating, Squash, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Weightlifting, Water Ski/Wakeboard, Wrestling, Handball, Hockey, Rugby 7s, and Volleyball.
