Daniel Wilson will captain Guyana’s Senior Men’s National Team as they begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, starting with a challenging away fixture against Nicaragua on June 6.
Head coach Wayne Dover has confirmed the 23-man squad for the upcoming qualifiers, featuring the return of Guyana’s all-time leading goalscorer, Omari Glasgow, who currently plays for Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire in the United States, as well as three debutants: forward Kyle Reid, goalkeeper Joshua Narine, and defender Kvist Paul, who is back following a stint abroad.

The squad is currently training in Costa Rica in preparation for the opening round of fixtures. Dover said the sessions have been progressing well and that the players are fully aware of the intensity and competitiveness the qualifiers will demand. The team is set to depart for Nicaragua on June 4.
Guyana is placed in Group D of the CONCACAF qualifying campaign, alongside regional heavyweights Panama, as well as Nicaragua, Montserrat, and Belize. Following their opener, the Golden Jaguars will return home to face Montserrat on June 10 at the Leonora Track and Field Facility, West Coast Demerara.
Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the next round of qualifying as CONCACAF nations vie for a place at the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup, set to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
