Four of Guyana’s top youth badminton players are set to make history this August as they prepare to compete at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay.
Frank Waddle, Mishka Beharry, Leshaunte Berkley, and Jonathan Debidin will represent Guyana from August 10–13, facing some of the best young talent from across the region.

Established in 2021, the Junior Pan Am Games this year will feature 28 sports and bring together more than 4,000 athletes from 41 countries across the Americas. The Guyanese quartet head into the tournament in strong form, having secured podium finishes at the recent GUMDAC Badminton Tournament, held from May 23–25 at the National Gymnasium in Georgetown.
Following their Pan Am campaign, a team comprising Ruel Ramritch, along with Beharry, Berkley, and Debidin, will go on to represent Guyana at the Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation (CAREBACO) Championships, scheduled to take place in Bridgetown, Barbados.
