Independence 5K and 10K Return to Georgetown on 25 May

The 9th edition of the Guyana Ex-Athletes and Friends Independence 5K and 10K is set to take place on May 25, with races starting from 2 p.m. at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary, Georgetown.

This year’s event will again feature youth races, including a one-mile run for Under-9 and Under-12 athletes. The junior runners will compete around the Eve Leary area, with prizes including bicycles, tablets, and stocked backpacks, among other rewards.

Meanwhile, older teens in the Under-19 category will take on the Open 5K, offering a competitive platform for young distance runners to showcase their talent.

All races will conclude at the Police Sports Club Ground, continuing the event’s tradition of community engagement and athletic development.

    This year events went very on fair for the over 60 athletes as for myself I expected a little gradetured for my dedicated effort to place 6 sixth over and 1 first in my categorie and most of all we over 60 athletes need better price we can ride use a tablet even a tv and so on I have been from the beginning and will be until I cannot compete
